Step 3. Please select the Rods/Tapes you require
Wood is the traditional material for the fabric stiffening bars
(batons). It cannot be washed, warps, is bulky and not so cheap
these days. On cheaper roman blind kits PVC is used, this will sag and warp when exposed to sunlight.
Our kits use 4mm Fibreglass rod which is far superior and very stiff for its weight, unaffected by sunlight
and OK in water and best suited for traditional Roman Blinds. On our kits these are used with our
Sew-Tape product
which is an sew-on tape to hold the fiberglass rod.
Another alternative to sewing is 'No-Sew bars', a patented system of fabric
capture using the modern plastic, polycarbonate. Our anacronyn is
‘C&O
rod with ‘end
plugs’ and ‘Dee
rings’. This allows you to simply slide the rods onto your fabric!
